New Era Progressive Baptist State Convention of Alabama

Minister’s Conference

2008 Program

To My Brothers in Christ,

I am pleased and also humbled at the recent call I received to be the president of the Minister’s Conference for the NEPBSC of Alabama.  I will endeavor to render my very best in service to GOD and you all. With that being established I hope you will accept my commitment and keep me in your prayers as I launch into deep and unfamiliar waters.

It is our impetus to minister to the needs of the pastors and ministers within the NEPBSC.   As we are ministers (those called to meet the needs of others), we must feed the flock of GOD, but we must remember to come to the table ourselves!  When the man of GOD becomes hungry, when there is an un-sated appetite, this man is immediately vulnerable to the attacks of the enemy.  Do you recall Jesus in the wilderness?  It was after 40 days in the wilderness, when he was hungry, that the enemy attempted his assault.   The same is true of us.

The enemy; our adversary, the devil has been manipulating mankind with his appetite since the fall of man.  It is my fear that as many of us have ‘gone hungry’, we have been reduced to eating fast-food, bad-food, or at worst dumpster diving for our own sustenance – I speak according the Spirit.  With this in mind, it is my heart’s desire to see that we, as fellow-laborers in the Gospel ministry, may have a forum where we can share our hearts in confidence, and receive the encouragement, instruction, and healing we so desperately need to remain healthy, effective, and efficient!  This is GOD’s will for us.

It is with this resolve that I accepted the responsibility to serve as president of the minister’s conference.   As we move forward, I am seeking GOD’s direction and guidance and I am very sensitive to the needs of those whom I have been called to serve, so please feel free to offer your suggestions and insights and share your concerns with me.

When we meet together, here is what I propose our program to be:
